You've done your juicing! Now it's time to clean!
We all love the juices our juicers make, but many of us find it difficult or tedious to clean our juicers. Today we are here to help break down the steps to clean your Kuvings juicer with ease!
(Make sure you read all the way to bottom, we have a secret tip for you)
These are the tools you'll want to wash your juicer. The toothbrush, the green rotational cleaning tool, and a microfibre cloth! (why the microfibre cloth? continue reading to find out!)
First things first, you'll want to dismantle your juicer. This part shouldn't be too difficult.
Next, you can start by washing the lid. No sharp bits or edges here, so you don't need to worry about cutting yourself. Plain water will do the trick, but if you've juiced something with higher sugar content, a little bit of dish soap won't hurt.
Next you can start on the auger. Again, you don't need to worry about cutting your fingers on this. Unlike a centrifugal juicer, our juicers have no sharp blades to slice your finger on. A steady flow of running water from the sink is all it takes to wash away the pulp from the auger.
Now, you can move onto the juicing bowl.
The juicing bowl isn't too difficult. You can use the back part of the toothbrush to dig out the pulp that may be stuck in the pulp chute of the bowl. With the help of running water, all the pulp will fall out easily.
Don't forget to rinse underneath the silicons on your rotation wiper! Hidden pulp can sometimes get trapped here and can build up over time. A simple pull on the silicon will help you rinse underneath.
Once you're done with that, you've pretty much 90% done. The steps above shouldn't have taken you longer than a minute and a half.
Now, we move onto the part that I think most of you are concerned about. The juicing screen! We have three methods that we use to wash the screen. We're going to teach you all three.
Method 1. Kuvings Patented Green Rotation Brush
Kuvings is the only cold press juicer company in the world to include a patented cleaning tool specially designed for the juicing screen. This cleaning tool comes included inside the box of ALL Kuvings juicers. Insert your screen in the tool and twist the screen clockwise and anti clockwise repeatedly under running water.
There are small brushes that line up perfectly with the stainless steel part of the juicing screen and will brush away all that pesky pulp build up.
Method 2. The Toothbrush
This one is pretty straightforward. Use the toothbrush to brush away at the juicing screen's holes. The toothbrush is especially helpful for those really stubborn bits of pulp that sometimes the rotational tool might not be able to get.
Method 3. The Secret Method *DRUM ROLL PLEASE* 🥁
A Microfiber Cloth!
The simple microfibre cloth that you have laying around your kitchen can come in super handy. We bet you didn't know that it can be used to help clean your juicing screen.
How do you use it? First, soak the microfibre cloth in water. Once it's all nice wet, wrap it around your finger (as if you were about to apply polish to a pair of shoes), and rub! The small fibres from the cloth are able to slip inside the holes of the juicing strainer and is surprisingly effective at getting rid of pulp in the screen. With a few seconds of rubbing, you'll notice that the pulp has magically come out.
And you're all done!
We know that none of us really enjoys washing our juicers... But it's important that we do it thoroughly to keep our juicer in a healthy condition for as long as possible. If you treat your juicer right, your juicer will treat you right :)
We hope that this has given you some insight on how to wash your Kuvings juicer. The more you do it, the easier it will become. Washing your Kuvings should take no longer than 3 minutes once you've gotten used to it.
Happy Juicing!!
