As we step into the half year of 2024, I've been thinking a lot about how we can start our days on the right foot. The way we start the day always seems to determine how the remainder of the day will go. After trying with various schedules over the last few months, I've finally crafted what I think is the perfect morning routine. I wanted to share it with all of you in the hope that it might inspire some positive changes in your lives too.

Get up early and shine

The night before is when a productive morning begins. I make sure to go to bed at the same time every night in order to get a decent night's sleep. I find that getting up early roughly around 6:30 AM gives me a good start and some much-needed quiet time before the hustle and bustle begins.

Hydration is Key

I have a full glass of water right away after I wake up in the morning. After hours of sleep, our bodies are naturally dehydrated, and this simple step helps kickstart my metabolism and wake up my system.

Morning Exercise

Physical activity is a must. I find that exercising my body in the morning, whether it be through a fast yoga practice, a jog around the neighbourhood, or an intense workout at the gym, increases my energy and elevates my mood all day. Even a basic stretching exercise will do if you're a busy working adult. 

Cold Press-Juice

Having a cold press juice is one of my favourite parts of the routine. There are so many benefits to starting my morning routine with a fresh juice. It helps with digestion and keeps me feeling full and energized while providing me with a substantial vitamin and mineral boost. Usually, I prefer a mix of greens, like spinach and kale, with an apple and a slice of lemon for sweetness. 

Healthy Breakfast

After my juice, I follow up with a light and healthy breakfast. This could be anything from oatmeal to a smoothie bowl that is packed with protein. A nutritious breakfast fuels my body and keeps me satisfied until lunch.

I genuinely think that adopting this daily routine has improved my quality of life, increased my productivity, and made me healthier and happier. Although it may seem overwhelming at first, keep in mind that you may begin small and work your way up to a complete routine that suits your needs.
